Vitamin D Deficiency Linked to Lung Fibrosis


Vitamin D deficiency was independently associated with subclinical interstitial lung disease (ILD) and its progression in adults in a community setting participating in the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA).

The researchers said the observational findings, published in the Journal of Nutrition, “lend support to the potential role of adequate vitamin D concentrations for the prevention of early interstitial lung disease.”
